In honor of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, have a look at some pictures that we took in Wapakoneta, Ohio a few weeks ago.

“But what does Wapakoneta have to do with the moon”, I hear you ask. The answer lies just below the fold…

Wapakoneta is the home town of Neil Armstrong, and also the location of the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum. We stopped off there for a few hours on a whim while driving to the airport after a recent visit back home to visit family.

The museum was surprisingly interesting for only covering a single topic. And the museum had everything from Neil’s high school yearbook and model rockets from childhood, through his career as a test pilot, and then as the first man to walk on the moon. We had a good time.
