Plus a sweater debut!
Take the way back machine to see what I’m talking about…
Not so far back as our wedding in Vegas, but a good couple of months nonetheless, the Yarn Harlot visited Dallas (finally!) on her current book tour. As a fitting (ha!) tribute, I knit Evie a sweater, which she debuted at the book signing. I figured that Stephanie (aka Yarn Harlot) couldn’t resist a baby, especially a baby in hand knits! Huzzah, I was right!
Stephani blogged about it here.
A new friend, Joanna, posted about Evie, too!
The talk was great (of course) and the kniterly crowds were… well, crowded – but with knitters, so that’s okay. But let’s get to the sweater:
This sweater has been mistakenly id’d as the Baby February Sweater more than a few times, mainly due to the gull lace on the body of the sweater. But it’s really the Angelica sweater from Queensland Collection Book 8. (Ravelry details.)
The sweater was a little big for Evie, and still is, but that only promises more wear, which makes Mommy happy.
Note: The reason for the long overdue post is that I was hoping to get some pix of just the sweater. What’s changed? I lost all hope.
ETA: Also, one of the amazing tidbits about this sweater is that almost all of it was knit while I was pumping. (Sorry if that’s too much information.) To be specific, pumping (expressing breastmilk with a breast pump) while at work. I have a bustier made for this (holes, ya’ see) that allows my hands to be free to do other things, like knit, seam sweaters, sew on little buttons (the day of the debut!), and type.. like right. this. second! (Bwah ha ha)
