It’s not just knitting around these parts, but sewing, too. Sometimes on the same project!
A friend’s daughter had her second birthday and I wanted to whip something up cute for her. Her mother always looks so stylish and nice, so I though a cute little outfit would be perfect, and Summerlin fit the bill!
Summerlin is a clever and quick dress that is a knit tank top sewn to a fabric skirt. I did not have Bella’s sizes, so I just went on blind faith that the pattern’s ‘fits a 2 yr old’ will really fit this 2 yr old. (If not, I’ll make another and Evie has something to look forward to.)
Pattern: Summerlin (Rav link)
Yarn: South West Trading Company “Oasis” 100% soy silk in Rose
Fabric: some stash pink n’ tan plaid
Notes: Yeah, I’m totally making some of these for Evie!

Oh my! This is the perfect hybrid rose: a little bit sewing, a little bit knitting, and a lot adorable. I\’m sending it to my knitting big sister immediately. This is something we could all wear, yes? Will look cutest on Evie, OF COURSE! Perfect mother-daughter outfit: make the top of wool, the skirt of flannel or a knit fabric, add a long sleeve T and your set for winter wear. Love it!
