In a pickle

Posted by Matty

This weekend, while at the McKinney Farmers Market, I was hypnotized by a vendor’s crate of pickling cucumbers. I’ve never pickled anything before, and to be honest, I like pickles, but I’m not c-r-a-z-y about ‘em. But Nancy is a pickle nut.

I did what had to be done, and a few dollars later, I was the proud owner of a bag of cukes.

PupCake Treats

Posted by Nanc

I baked up two batches of doggie biscuits a few weekends ago as part of a Secret Santa gift exchange at work. A single batch makes plenty, but I wanted to try out two varieties and figured that I could gift the extras to my puppy-lovin’ friends, too.

I recently finished wiring and putting together our den/theater room, and was stumped on how to decorate it. I came up with an idea, which Nanc readily agreed to. (Remember that did you agreed to this, Nancy.)

I thought that it would be fun to decorate the room with props from some of our favorite movies and TV shows. After doing a little more research, I realized that the stuff that I really wanted was just a tad out of my price range.

Being the resourceful guy that I am, I decided to build some of the pieces myself. It’s fun, and keeps me from doing anything useful. My first piece is finished. Pics and details inside.

Hmm, this almost sounds like it could be a drink. But it’s not. Nope. It’s a finished object (FO), specifically a pair of socks!

Dye-o-meme-a-rama

Posted by Nanc

I band-wagoned (this can be used as a verb, yes?) and joined the Dye-O-Rama swap. As part of this and to help my pal figure a good color and scheme for me, I’ve got a meme for y’all. No, you don’t HAVE to read it. No one’s forcing you, right?

This past weekend we had a wonderful visit from Matt’s sister Rachel and her awesome family (Jason and baby Benny). Obviously, Benny stole the show and it was really all about him. (Hopefully this won’t cause too many issues for him in the future.)

Okay, not truly infinity. But at times, it felt like it.

Yes! The Dr. Who scarf is complete! Done. Finito. Nada mas. And I’m not even saying that like the knitting part is done, but seamin’* and blockin’ still has to happen. I mean that it is ALL DONE… (well, except for mailing it off to my bro).

* Lilyan and Aubyn? That was especially for you!

There is the occasional need for good, bad TV. And since the advent of “reality” shows, both the ‘badness’ and our need to watch has grown exponentially. I say this in the “we” of Matty and I, but I am fairly certain that a large portion of the populous are doing the same damn thing.

One of the shows that we watch is Cheaters. Joey (or Joel) Grecco tells us all about local (DFW area) infidelities and trysts. No, I am not going to write all about the greatness (of bad) that is Cheaters, or go on anymore about crap TV. This was all an introduction to prepare you for what you are about to see when you click ‘Read More’.
