Keeping little toes warm this winter. That was the challenge/aim for one of the October charity projects.
Touching Little Lives is an Ohio-basd charity helping babies, so it's like helping my neighbors from home. They posted a Bootie Bonanza challenge to try and collect 2003 pair of baby booties. With everyone's help, they were able to collect a whopping 5,879 pair of booties! Amazing.
While I was only able to help with a miniscule 10 pair, this project really emphasized the Power of One. As added incentive, the easiest baby bootie pattern was shared throughout the groups - soleless booties.
I WILL complete my squares!
I WILL make Matty complete his!
And little, by little the wedding quilt for Rachel and Jason will be done.
I'll call this square "What I like about you."
People get together for all sorts of reasons. Love of pork, political ambition, large quantities of beer. Rachel and Jason seem to have all the right links and I wanted to document that on their quilt. A bit of homage, if you will, to their shared interests.
The images in this square represent the following: dogs, sushi, camping, motorcycles, and spicy foods.
Some fabrics are there solely to support a theme, not that they are into koi (for example).
