Hi, this blog has been upgraded, but I'm leaving the old pages online until the search engines catch up. If you want to join the discussion, this may be the page you're looking for on the new site.
Is that you in the next stall?
My shoes rock!
It's been a few weeks, but still find myself enamored with a new pair of sneaks that I bought on a whim. I have to restrain from wearing them every single day, and am extra-happy on the days when I allow myself to wear them. Crazy, huh?
Don't be jealous. I'm sure that you have a neat pair of shoes that make your sole (ha!) smile and heart sing, too. You do, don't you? If not, what are you waiting for?
Don't they rock?!
Okay, here's the details: the shoes (the ones on my feet Right. Now.) were purchased at Whole Earth Provision. They are the from the Simple brand, and they are muy comfy. I even know that a pal-o of mine picked herself up a Simple shoe that she's lovin' too.
The one tough thing with having super-cute shoes that are uncommon enough to make coworkers jealous is that you can easily be identified on the other side of the bathroom stall. Come on - you know that you check out your neighbors shoes (and pedicure, if sandals are worn) while in the loo. It's almost a game (a quiet, keep-to-yourself sort of mental game): try to recognize the coworker by her peds. Obviously the odds are trickier in larger offices.
Oh - and there are well-know etiquette rules for the office bathroom, but these are mainly for men. Are they the same for women? There are a few different ah... issues that the ladies deal with that should probably be addressed. Anyone want to take this project on?

I know a thing or two about shoes that make the "sole" smile, and let me tell you, those would totally do it. I am more than a little jealous :)
As for the work bathroom/shoe thang, I totally do it. Of course, I only check out the shoes, not the feet. Since I work in a large office with many bathrooms, it is more about shoe window shopping than identifying the wearer. Not many people wear shoes as cool as yours though!
As for work bathroom etiquette, I think my unique situation (read: shy poo-er) makes me inequipped to take on the project. I must say though, I love being paid to pee at work :)

i often talk to my friends in the restroom after identifying there shoes - i am weird but i do have most of my coworkers/friends doing it as well
LOVE the shoes. LURVE, even.
I too play the "identify the co-worker" game in the bathroom. My bevy of pink shoes makes me an easy one to pick out, and once, a lady even waited until I came out of the stall so that she could compliment me on them and ask me where I got them.
Stall etiquette? Yes, please. I go into a semi-blind RAGE when someone chooses the stall right. next. to. me. in an otherwise empty bathroom. Unless there is not enough stalls, there should always be a minimum of one stall in between.
Kewl shoes! I love the bathroom game!! And all this time I thought I was the only one who played it!
Oh and I like your new "Toys..." logo!
Those are NICE. I wish I could wear shoes like that to work. Oh well, I can dream of what it would feel like to wear those walking around. :)
