Little bit o' fun
Well actually, there was a whole lotta fun, but the afternoon was about little things. Namely, wee tiny sweaters!
This Saturday, Aubyn, Purling Pirate, and I went to a knitting class at the Shabby Sheep. (No website yet, but an awesome lil' store!) The item to knit? Mini sweaters.
despite how confusing this might look, it was notThe pattern is easy and they work up in no time at all. Simply knit the four pieces (front, back, and two sleeves) on a needle each, and then join them in the round for a few rows and decreases. The final product will make you giggle with glee (if you're prone to glee-giggling, that is).
tee-he-heThese wee sweaters will be decorating a Christmas tree that is part of a larger, holiday event for charity. (I forget the event, but it was for good, not evil I'm sure.) But now that I've got the skillz....
I've got mad plans to knit mini versions of all kinds of things: socks, scarves and mittens (but not earmuffs - that would be ridiculous). I could knit any sweater that I'm considering knitting full-size. Or would that be creepy to have a mini version of your winter wardrobe?

OHMYGOSH! I must have a wee mini sweater! Those are precious!
Cute. You will need to show me how to make those. Besides the poncho mannequin might get cold this winter.

Rachel makes good sense. The pez can get cold in the winter. That's just sad. Plus, you could coordinate your outfits with the pez...

That class was fun. After ya'll left I gave up because Ronda came and told me I was knitting on the wrong side....but alas I came home and on Sunday I conquered the wee mini sweater! I made a red one as the cream color yarn she gave me ended up a tangle mass unwilling to be untangled. My wee mini scarf has OU embroirderd on the front and will be worn proudly by my husbands van bear.
