Not so elegant, but what about one of those flat, clear, plastic craft organizers? You know, the ones where you can decide your own compartment sizes? Then, you can store your earring together, and have larger places for your watches, necklaces etc? They come in many sizes, but are all flat so you can throw it into your underwear drawer. Then again, since my jewerly is dumped and stacked into bowls, boxes, and cabinets throughout my house, perhaps I am not a good one to offer advice. Of course, you do have a birthday coming up, so you could always ask the Bonez for a smallish, pretty wooden box/jewelry box. Maybe even a puzzle box!!! Sorry, puzzle boxes excite me. My Dad got me a cute kitty one for Xmas. I think I have a few pieces of jewerly stuck in it. Am I rambling? Shutting up now.... -R

I was thinking the same thing... a craft box with the little shelves in it. Or maybe a fishing tackle box! Or, Matty can try his hand at wood carving...you could trade him a sheep!

I use a wooden earring holder for my earrings--pairs them up/spaces them apart/easy to find what I'm looking for. Doesn't take up much space on my dresser. For necklaces, Keith hung up a plank with wooden pegs on the wall (in my closet)--no tangling, no flat space required! Pins go in the craft box: tiny drawers with spacers.

I have just the thing - I have two old 1950's-era jewelry boxes -and I only need one. So come pick one and it's yours if you want.

Rachel --- next time I see you, remind me, and I have a couple of puzzle boxes for you. Though, I think that by the time that you open them, you might not want to wear the jewelry any more

I've seen what looks like miniature armoires at craft stores. They are made out of wood, so you could paint, stain, decoupage, whatever you really wanted to with it, and it would satisfy that creative side of yours.
I would think adding a couple of small pegs for the necklaces and rings, or hooks for the watches would be pretty easy.
It's an idea.

The Container Store sells plastic boxes with different sizes of little compartments. I have one with teeny compartments for earrings and another with two different sizes of compartments for bracelets and necklaces. Both fit in a small top drawer in my dresser. I like the fact that they have hinged lids.

I'd vote against the type that you hang up your stuff on - it draws attention to it and my mother had a break-in and the guy knew exactly where to look because she had a free standing one that scraemed "steal from me".
