A trebuchet candy bowl?

by Nanc filed under blog on August 11, 2006 10:37 AM

A piñata coffin, er... fancy wooden box? Cast-iron skillet candy logs? Chocolate golf club set (with irons and woods)? Candied liver & onions? A wrought iron and wood bench in Willy Wonka's Candy Gardens?

What in the Sam Hill am I going on about? It's the Bonez' and my sixth wedding anniversary today. And although we promised each other not to get anything, it's still fun to look, plot, and think of these things.

And it seems that I am not the only (bonus: a knitter, ta' boot) one with this conundrum.

Please help me wish my honey a happy 'nother year. Happy Anniversary, babe!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! You two are one of my favorite couples and I would feel blessed if I find someone who makes me even 1/2 as happy as you two make each other. I love you both.

Congrats, you two!! You certainly deserve it. I would say congrats on 6 years of magic but considering NanC's feelings on the subject......Hee!

Happy Anniversary to both of you!! --- Oh, wait... Happy Anniversary to just one of you --- namely, Nanc.

And yes, it took me a minute to realize that 6th Anniversary = Candy/Iron (traditional) or Wood (modern). Boys aren't born with that kind of knowledge.

Wait --Candy? Hello, PEZ?

Since we're not exactly sticklers for tradition (Reverend Elvis, anyone?) I propose that a good gift for our 6th anniversary will include more of the fun, laughs, and supercool companionship that Ive grown accustomed to over the past 52,560 minutes (give or take).

Happy Anniversary, my dear.

p.s. Nice vest!

Hippo Anniverserus! (Hope you've seen the Sandra Boynton card, or you're just going to think I'm weirder than you remember.) Today "Kevin" and I are celebrating our 30th. I had to look it up--Pearl (trad) & Diamond (mod). As if. The cat had us convinced it was the SHRIMP anniversary, and all presents should be given to the cat. We don't usually do the present thing, but I'm using this as an excuse to give Keith tix to the One Man Star Wars.

Cheers!

Happy Happy Aniversary!

{Now how the heck can Chocolate be paired with Iron? Whoa - I don't think I even own anything made from iron but we won't discuss that Other Stuff...}

How did I get so far behind? I hope you were both rolling in candy on your anniversary as wood and iron would not be so much fun to roll in. Happy Day!
