Cat Frenzy

by Matty filed under blog on August 20, 2006 10:20 PM

We received a mysterious package that made the cats go crazy. What could possibly be inside? Did I mention the strange and funky smell?

The smell was strangely sweet and became more and more pungent as we unwrapped the layers hiding the contents.

Inside the box was a green, leafy weed, double-bagged in an attempt to keep the smell at bay.

A little more investigative work was in order. I checked the address label, and it was postmarked Flint, MI. My hometown. My pulse quickened, and I checked out the front door to make sure that there weren't any cops waiting to bust down the door.

The letter inside explained it all. My friend, Kirsti (who I would link to if she got a blog -- hint) sent along some fresh catnip that she grows for her own four cats.

But would our citified Dallas cats enjoy the fresh catnip -- the feline maryjane, the cat weed, the kitten reefer, the tabby ganja, the -- okay, that's really all I could come up with. Could they? You betcha. Take a look at the excessive amount of pics for more fun with the cats.

Ha! Looks like a great time for all kitties, although I am a little intimidated by the fangs on dill (pic8).

PS: Hi Kirsti!

Hee hee - It was a fun time in the house with those stoned kittens. Especially Walter, who becomes totally whacky. (This is only his 3rd time ever with the 'nip.)

FYI to our readers - Matty promises to add some funny captions to those pics, so come on back to see where clever lives. (Hmmm, is that too much pressure?)

The captions (or is it cat-pions) are up. I can't say that they're funny, but they are up.

OMG that is tooooo funny. The green fairy caption had me LOL. :)

my baby goes nutso w/ the kitty reefer as well. i usually stick it in a plastic bag and throw it at her. One time i made catnip tea...set it out...she came up to the bowl...sniffed...then dunked her head in the bowl. i was screaming "NO DON"T DROWN YOURSELF!!" hahah.

how do you like the foodsaver toy? i want one too. :)

The DEA letter was really funny! Your captions rock...catnip town was a keeper.

My kitties are all-out nip heads so I thought I would share with Matty and his Katties. Nothing beats the fresh stuff! I was a bit scared of the DEA pounding on my door, but I guess their dogs know the difference. I just wonder what the mailman was thinking? I am glad to see that they enjoyed it! Dill reminds me of my Pixie when she is doped... just kinda lays there. Sprite gets the munchies, and Simba and Rajah get some all-out brawls going. For more of my cat stories, I will be starting a Yahoo 360 thing that my sister-in-law is into. I guess that may be a way for me to finally join the world of blogging. It may take a year or two for me to figure it out, but my name is Kirsti B or something like that. I had to join the info superhwy at some point... But I am on the shoulder walking very slowly, so please don't run me over! By the way... Hello, Rachel!
