When "Toasted" isn't a euphemism for anything
I'm not blaming anyone, but certainly someone was laying down on the job when it came to telling me about toasting Pop*Tarts.
Yes. It's true. Today, for the first time evah, I ate a Pop*Tart pastry that had been heated in the warm cockles of a toaster. Amazing, no?
I grew up eating Pop*Tarts! They were something quick I could grab while running out the door to catch (but mostly miss) the schoolbus. They're an unfussy snack when you need a little something; a treat only purchased on occasion. And until now, I've only eaten them cold out of their shiny mylar pouches.
Oh, my - when I think back on the many "raw" Pop*Tarts that I have consumed during my snack and quick-breakfasts-on-the-run years... [sigh].
But this morning, my honey baked me up a tasty Brown Sugar Cinnamon frosted Pop*Tart in my grandma's toaster. It was bliss. (Bliss enough for me to toast up the 2nd one in work's toaster.)
What other tasty secrets are y'all keeping from me that I should know about?

That's how I felt when I first discovered how much better Moon Pies (which are pretty darned good to begin with) are when they're warmed slightly in the microwave. OMG!
Frozen tater tats have a much fuller flavor when heated.
Oh man I wish I had read that Moon Pie tip earlier- I just had one!
My more recent discovery is "Amy's Organic" frozen food. Especially if you eat from a lunch room microwave at work like I do- I won't buy anything else anymore! The Pesto Tortellini I could eat almost every day.

Poptarts - yum! Cold - warm doesn't matter - yum!!
My secret:
Cheerios with melted butter. Don't know it. It's better than you think.
But it has to be real butter. It's just not the same with the fake stuff with the butter-like taste.
Nope. Gotta be buttah.
i never heard of butter on cheerios! doesn't putting butter on them negate the fact that they help you lower your cholestrol? lol
i love warm pop tarts. i rarely eat them cold. my fav.....frosted strawberry!!
Hmm...butter on the blueberry plain/frosted poptarts is mmmmGood. If frosted yes you put butter on the bottom! Broiled twinkies. If you want to go really crazy head over to fastfoodfever dot com
When in a bind, a few seconds in the microwave will also fancy up a Pop-tart, just be sure to remove it from the foil wrapper first.
My other fast food--Marie Callendar's pot pies. Not quick enough for lunch food, but we eat these puppies for dinner more than we should admit. If my snobby hubbie will eat them, you know they are mmm...mmm...good.
I'm with Bot-Gurl, you must put butter on your toasted PopTarts! I have them almost every morning for breakfast.
Have to say I agree with Rachel on the pot pies. We got burned out on them because we too ate them more than we should have!
One thing the kids LOVE is to put their waffles in the micro for about 10 seconds after you put the butter and syrup on them just to warm it up and make it soak into the waffle. It does make it a bit of a challenge to eat the soggy things, but they do find a way to do it.
The one Pop*Tart you have to try in the toaster is the S'mores one, mmmm, not quite like the one from a campfire, but pretty darned close. David appreciates the free adversiting for his employer on your website also=;0)
Boy, am I hungry now! Why have I never thought to warm a Moon Pie? I zap marshmallows on graham crackes all the time- with chocolate chips if I haven't eaten them all.

Yummm, Marie Callendar pot pies! Her chicken pot pie soup is pretty good as well!
Butter on Cheerios? I don't get it. But I do eat butter on grits, which can be a breakfast cereal. Do you butter frosted pop tarts or just the plain kind?
My vote for best pop-tart (heated, of course--and yes, microwaves are better than nothing) is the frosted brown sugar cinnamon kind.
Can't you get worms from eating raw pop tarts? snerk...
Hi, recently found you and, I wanted to let you know about chocolate mint pop tarts. FROZEN!
Soooo good
Bread is just raw toast. :)
